1. Prizes
a. Doubles winner shall receive
two movie tickets
b. Singles will shall receive a WaveBird wireless Game Cube controller
2. General tournament
rules
a. All matches will be 4 STOCK
b. Matches will be best out of 3 except for finals which will be best
of 5
c. All items will be turned OFF
d. Time limit is set at 6:00 minutes per game
e. Ties will be broken by stock left and then by percentage of health.
Sudden death will only be played if both stock and percentage are tied
at the end of the time limit
f. Tournament format will be double elimination or pools dependent upon attendance
3. Controllers
a. You are responsible for bringing
your own controller. If you do not, you are not guaranteed one.
b. Turbo or programmed buttons of any kind are banned. You may use third
party controllers that have these features, but if you are suspected
of using these features you will not be allowed to use that controller
any longer.
4. Stage and character
select
a. Stage selection will start
as RANDOM unless opposing players agree to a certain stage.
b. Random select stages: Final Destination, Battlefield, Yoshi's Story,
Fountain of Dreams, Green Greens, Yoshi's Island 64, Dreamland 64, &
Pokemon Stadium.
c. Banned stages: Hyrule Temple, Fourside, Flatzone, Brinstar Depths,
Icicle Mountain, Big Blue, and Rainbow Cruise.
d. Losing player(s) pick any stage except those on the banned list.
e. If and only if winner decides to change character, loser may change
characters
5. Doubles
Provisions
a. Friendly fire is OFF
b. Life-stealing is permitted
c. Cheap tactics are banned (e.g. 1 player holding and the other attacking)
d. All other rules apply.
6. Miscellaneous
a. All singles matches will be
on the 1st and 2nd controller ports. Players are set at these positions
randomly
b. Players choose their character and have 30 seconds to do so. If any
player does not select their character at the end of these 30 seconds
or if any player calls for it, a double blind pick will be used. This
is were each player tells a third party who they will be using secretly
and are required to use that character for that game. Once a character
has placed their coin on a character's image to select it, they may
not change characters.
c. Unnecessary pausing will result in a forfeit of a single game
d. Glitches used to permanently prevent an opponent from controlling
their character are banned and will result in forfeit of a game
i. Excessive stalling tactics (Peach's wallbombing, Jiggly's rising
pound, Luigi's ladder) will result in forcing you to lose one stock.
