RUSH LAMBDAS
Lambda Phi Epsilon seeks well-rounded individuals with the potential to be future leaders in the Columbia community and beyond. Lambda Phi Epsilon attracts open-minded, dedicated members, each bringing a multitude of diverse perspectives and unique experiences to the fraternity.
WHAT IS RUSH?
Rush is a structured one to two week period when our house
actively seeks for new Brothers. It's an opportunity to meet the Brothers,
learn about our house objectives and activities, and find out about the
benefits of being a Brother.
WHAT DO LAMBDAS DO AFTER GRADUATION?
Alumni of Lambda Phi Epsilon are involved in anything from starting their own record company to pursuing an M.D. at Harvard Medical School. The variety of occupational fields of our alumni is as diverse as the brothers themselves. Brothers have gone on to work at places including Merrill Lynch Investment Banking, Credit Suisse First Boston Merchant Banking, Citigroup Fixed Income, RBC Capital Markets, Accenture Consulting, Def Jam Records, and GoldPocket Interactive. Others are studying at Harvard Medical School, Stanford Business School, NYU Law School, Columbia University Masters Program in Engineering, Penn State College of Medicine, and researching at Rutgers University. Our alumni are very successful in whatever area they chosen to pursue.
The alumni continue to keep close contact with the actives and act as mentors in everything from the internship search process to applying to graduate schools.
WILL I HAVE TIME TO PURSUE ACTIVITIES OTHER THAN LAMBDA PHI EPSILON?
Our brothers are involved in different levels to the fraternity. We find that our members enjoy spending time with one another and thus we spend time with one another a lot. Our brothers are active members in the Columbia community. Currently, our brothers are active members in the following organizations: Asian American Alliance (AAA), Chinese Student Club (CSC), KSA (Korean Students Association), Columbia Economics Society, English Tutoring Program, Special Interest Housing, Dance Marathon, University Housing Committee, Orientation Leaders, Biomedical Society, and others.
Some of our brothers also maintain part-time jobs during the school year at places that include McKinsey & Company Consulting and Merrill Lynch Investment Banking.
ARE ALL LAMBDAS ASIAN?
There are brothers in chapters of Lambda Phi Epsilon all over the nation who are not Asian. Lambda Phi Epsilon stresses that it is an Asian-American INTEREST Fraternity, which means that anyone who is interested in our goals, both Asian and non-Asian, are encouraged to join. As Americans, we all share similar experiences and thoughts, and whether or not you understand or come from an Asian culture does not matter, so long as you are interested to learn from and interact with people who have. If you feel that you have an interest for Asian awareness or want to, come out and rush Lambda Phi Epsilon.
